Should I keep using a hobby feed that makes me want equipment more than ideas?

Technology category photographTechnology

I opened the pottery app to find ideas for a small hand-built vase. By the time I put the phone down, I was comparing electric wheels I have nowhere to keep.

The feed was attractive. Some posts were useful. I also kept drifting from a shape I could try this weekend to setups that required purchases I had never been considering.

A friend says I should curate it more carefully. I am tempted to take a break and use the reference pictures I already saved instead.

How would you tell whether the app is helping the hobby? I want to leave a browsing session with an idea for the clay on my table, not a shopping list for a studio I do not have.

Pick a small task before opening it: find two shapes for the vase, then return to the clay. You can judge that session by whether it helped you begin. The most attractive feed is not necessarily the most useful part of the weekend.
