Can I make my partner the wedding-day contact when suppliers keep calling me?

Weddings category photographWeddings

The band called me to ask when they could unload. I was standing beside my partner, who had booked the band and sent its final schedule. I handed him the phone.

This keeps happening. The florist is my booking, the band is his, and we agreed he would handle questions on the day while I get ready with my family. Several suppliers still have me marked as the main contact because I filled in the first enquiry forms.

He says, "Just tell them to call me." I have, but I also keep answering when my phone rings. Yesterday I answered a question about the band's loading time without checking the schedule he'd agreed.

I want to redirect calls without leaving him responsible for arrangements he hasn't seen. How do we change the contact plan so it works in practice, including the part where I stop stepping in?

Your example contains both halves of the problem: suppliers default to you, and you sometimes answer for work he owns. Confirm the contact change together, then practise passing the question on instead of trying to be helpful from memory.

For the band, he already has the relationship and final schedule. He can send the contact instruction himself. That may be clearer than another message from you saying someone else is responsible.
