How should we be introduced at our reception when neither of us is changing our name?

Weddings category photographWeddings

The DJ's form had one box marked "married surname". I wrote both our names. His draft announcement came back as "Mr and Mrs Reed".

I'm Dana Martin; my partner is Alex Reed. We're each keeping our name. Alex says the DJ probably copied the standard line and one introduction isn't worth worrying about. I want us announced as the people we actually intend to be.

We've already had relatives ask which name to put on cards, so the wrong introduction would answer that question for them all at once. I don't want to explain the form from our table while dinner arrives.

Is "Please welcome Dana and Alex" enough, or should we use both full names? I want to settle the words and move on, without making our entrance a speech about surnames.

"Please welcome Dana and Alex" does the job if that's what you both like. Send the exact sentence and ask the DJ to replace the draft rather than asking him to interpret "both names" again.
