This started around a shared spreadsheet in a small Austin business, and now a normal amount of money feels like a friendship test.

What happened was someone accepted a cheaper option that cost everyone later. The amount mattered less than how comfortable everyone got deciding for me. The whole mess started over a shared vacation deposit, and it involved the friend earning much more than everyone else. The payment countdown flashed red. I know the mature answer. I am asking because I do not want to do it.

Keeping the trip affordable without announcing my finances. I did not say that part out loud. The cheapest option created extra work for them. The booking window is closing. Now the group chat is about repayment, and the refund window closes today. I objected to every upgrade separately.

Maybe I am using this to justify myself. Privacy makes budget limits look like negativity.
