The problem was the person who paid first now wants extra control. I know money makes everyone sound petty, but nobody gets to spend someone else's patience forever. I was dealing with siblings with unequal caregiving histories at an inheritance discussion. Old envelopes smelled like the family house. I am not proud of how satisfying it felt when other people finally noticed.
