My child told the truth and somehow I am the problem

This happened around a kitchen after a custody handoff, which is already the worst place for adults to start acting stupid. This started when another parent called me out in front of the kids.

This happened around a kitchen after a custody handoff, which is already the worst place for adults to start acting stupid.

This started when another parent called me out in front of the kids. I tried to keep it normal and failed. This was at school pickup in sudden rain, with my co parent and the teacher on duty. Wet permission slips clung to the backpack. I know parents get intense, but this felt different.

Keeping the child from feeling forgotten. I did not say that part out loud. We had both changed the plan verbally. The child now packs an emergency snack. Now the child is stuck in the middle, and the teacher wants the adults to decide now. I blamed the app before checking my message.

The thing I cannot get past is this. Reliability matters to me because my own parents were late.
