Our old guild chat is nearly empty. Should I stop trying to bring everyone back?

Gaming category photographGaming

I posted a Saturday sign-up and got two thumbs-up reactions but no names. An hour later, four former regulars were playing another game together in a different channel.

Nobody has fallen out. Our campaign ended three months ago, and people moved on. I kept the old guild chat active with screenshots, polls and suggested runs because that was where we used to meet almost every night. A friend told me, gently, "You can come with us. It doesn't have to be through the guild."

I know that. But joining their new group feels like leaving the one I spent two years organizing. If I stop posting, the old chat may become an archive rather than a place anybody visits.

How do I let the guild end without turning it into an accusation that the others abandoned me? I want to preserve what we did together and still be someone they invite to the next game.

The invitation to come with them is worth taking literally. They may have left a campaign, not you. Joining one evening doesn't require deleting the old chat or deciding that its two years no longer count.

You have been doing the work of keeping a place active. It is reasonable to stop that work when people don't sign up. A simple message saying the campaign channel will stay available as an archive can preserve the memories without asking people to reassure you through another poll.
