I bought a season pass, but the daily tasks are replacing the game I actually enjoy

Gaming category photographGaming

Last night I had forty minutes to play. I spent thirty-five gathering tokens for a daily task, then logged off without joining the mode I'd opened the game for.

The season pass cost me $12. In this game, the outfit I wanted is at the end of a task track, and I've been doing a little each night to reach it. I am close enough that stopping feels wasteful, but I don't enjoy these tasks. My friend says we can keep doing them together and that missing the outfit now would be "throwing away the pass."

He isn't pressuring me maliciously; he likes having a nightly partner. I like seeing him. I just keep choosing the reward over the part where I get to play.

Would you finish the track because it's nearly done, or switch back to the fun mode even if the outfit remains locked? I need a way to judge the remaining evenings, not another reminder that I've already paid $12.

The next evening is still yours to choose. The $12 explains why you started the track, but it doesn't tell you whether thirty-five more minutes of token gathering is enjoyable now. Compare the remaining tasks with what you could actually play in that time.

How many sessions are left, using the game's current task information rather than the feeling of being nearly finished? One short evening and a week of chores are different choices. Put that estimate beside the outfit's value to you; nobody else can decide how much you will enjoy wearing it.
