Is it reasonable to ask about a late-upload penalty when I also left submission until the last minute?

Education category photographEducation

My essay reached the submission page at 12:02. The deadline was 11:59. I watched the upload wheel turn for several minutes, but I had only started uploading at 11:57.

The automatic late notice deducted marks. I have a screenshot of the stalled page and the file saved before the deadline. I also have no good explanation for leaving two minutes to submit it. A friend says three minutes shouldn't count; the lecturer's notice says students must allow time for uploading.

Would it be reasonable to ask the lecturer to review what happened, while admitting the late start? I don't want to describe this as a system failure if I don't know what caused the stall. I also don't want to sit on the screenshot if there is a process for checking it.

The two facts can stay together: you began very late, and the upload appeared to stall. A review request can state both without demanding that the screenshot prove an outage. Ask what evidence the course accepts and what process applies.

Your friend's 'three minutes shouldn't count' is a preference, not the rule for this module. Read the actual late-submission and technical-problem instructions before deciding what you are requesting.
