Is a notes app worth paying for if its export loses the way I organise my notes?
TechnologyMy trial ends on Sunday. The notes app is asking $48 for a year, and I like it more than the plain folders I used before. Recipes, repair notes and travel ideas finally have tags that make sense to me.
Then I tried exporting six notes. The text was readable, but the tags I used to find them were missing from that export. I had thought “export available” meant I could leave with the whole arrangement.
My partner says forty-eight dollars is reasonable for something I use every day. It might be. I am worried that paying will encourage me to move the rest of my notes before I have checked the other export options.
Would you pay for the useful year and accept some work when leaving, or pause the move until you can reconstruct a small sample elsewhere? The app has made writing easier. I would like leaving it to remain a realistic choice too.
