How do I confess that I mixed two jigsaws before we spend another evening solving them?
Funny'Why does the sea have two lighthouses?' Dad asked.
We had spent Sunday afternoon on a seaside jigsaw. There were more edge pieces than seemed necessary, and my sister had started accusing the picture of being geographically ambitious.
I tidied the table last week by putting loose pieces into the nearest open box. I've now found a second box on the shelf with almost the same seaside picture. Some of its pieces were loose. I think our impossible coast is my doing.
Dad wants another puzzle evening on Wednesday. My sister has arranged the odd pieces into a little island and calls it a disputed territory. I could quietly try sorting the sets before then, but I don't know whether I can separate all of them.
Should I admit what I probably did now, or try to fix it first so the next family evening doesn't become four people watching me inspect tiny bits of blue?
