Can I refuse to share the mannequin video when I kept a similar clip of my friend?

Funny category photographFunny

'Excuse me,' I said, moving aside for a mannequin outside a clothes shop.

My friend Liv recorded the last few seconds, including me waiting for its reply. I laughed when she showed me. She wants to send it to our family chat because I know most of her relatives and we'd been joking about the shopping trip.

I don't want it sent. Then Liv reminded me that I filmed her waving back at her own reflection last month. She asked me to delete that clip. I said I wouldn't share it, but I still have it because it makes me laugh.

She hasn't sent mine yet. She's waiting for my answer. I know I have made a poor argument for respecting hers. How do I ask her to keep the mannequin moment private without acting as though my embarrassment matters more than the request I ignored?

Delete the reflection clip she asked you to delete, and tell her you should have done it then. Ask her not to send yours and whether she wants you to remove any other copy of hers. Make the repair to her request without turning it into a trade for what she does with the mannequin video.

Laughing at a clip in the moment doesn't necessarily mean wanting it in the family chat. Liv is doing something useful by asking before sending. Give her a clear no, and recognise that you should have taken her earlier no just as seriously.
