Can I remove my language-practice recordings from our dinner playlist?

Funny category photographFunny

A voice said, 'Where is the train station?' just as my partner brought dinner to the table.

The voice was mine. I had accidentally added some recordings from my language-class practice to a playlist we use at home. Between two quiet songs, I asked about transport three times and then spent a minute trying again.

My partner laughed and said we should keep the recordings. He finds the determined pauses affectionate. I find them difficult to sit through while eating. This isn't a privacy worry; the playlist is just for us.

I put the songs there originally, but we both add music now. I want to remove the practice files without making it sound as though I reject the bit of ordinary life he likes hearing. Can we keep the accidental joke as a memory without having my train-station search return every other dinner?

Your partner can enjoy the accidental moment without the recordings staying in the regular playlist. Tell him, 'I'm glad they made you smile, but I don't enjoy hearing my practice during dinner. I'm taking those files out.' You are changing the shared listening experience, not rejecting his affection.

Perhaps save the files separately if you still want them for practice. That gives the recording its proper place without requiring a sentimental hearing every evening. You don't have to delete useful work to remove it from a meal playlist.

He may hear the pauses as something endearing because they are yours, while you hear all the effort and mistakes. Neither reaction needs to be proved wrong. The important question is whether a recurring shared soundtrack should contain something one of you actively dislikes hearing there.
