I got blamed for the thing the tool did

I hate that the dumbest tech problem of the week is now partly my problem. This started when the person who warned about the risk is being blamed for slowing things down. I tried to keep it normal and failed.

I hate that the dumbest tech problem of the week is now partly my problem.

This started when the person who warned about the risk is being blamed for slowing things down. I tried to keep it normal and failed. The whole mess started after a cloud folder permission error, and it involved a client and the teammate who configured access. The access counter kept increasing. I wanted to be professional and failed in my head immediately.

Closing exposure before assigning blame. That sounds cleaner than it felt while it was happening. My own template carried the bad setting. The client downloaded an unknown number of files. Now the transcript is in the workspace, and legal wants the timeline by noon. I checked the audit log before alerting anyone.

I keep coming back to the same uncomfortable point. Investigation delay can look like concealment.
