Should I restore an old document version to recover one missing paragraph?
TechnologyThe chair asked where the introduction had gone. I opened version history in our shared Google Doc and found it in yesterday's version. Restoring that version looked like a one-click fix.
Then I noticed today's room details and the corrected speaker name would be missing from that older text. Two people had worked on the document since the introduction disappeared. I have not clicked Restore.
The chair says to put the paragraph back and stop worrying about who removed it. I agree about getting it back, but I would like to understand what happened before we use the same editing routine for the next programme.
Would you recover just the paragraph or restore the earlier version and reapply today's changes? I want a complete current document, not a return to whichever moment happened to contain the bit we lost.
