The sliding closet door jumps its track when we reach for the back half
HousingI slid the bedroom closet door left to reach a suitcase. The panel tilted toward me and stopped with its top corner several inches out of line.
I held it in place while my partner moved the suitcase, then guided the door back to the closed position without forcing it. We have left that panel alone since.
The closet has two mirrored sliding doors. The front panel moves smoothly across most of the opening, but the rear panel catches near the midpoint. There is no visible broken glass. The lower guide looks slightly crooked from floor level, although that observation is not a diagnosis and we are not removing a heavy mirrored panel ourselves.
The maintenance request includes a photo of the tilted position taken before we closed it, a short video of the catch made without pushing past it, and the exact side affected. We also cleared the closet floor so a technician can reach the track without climbing over shoes.
My partner keeps forgetting and reaching for the rear panel out of habit. I tied a bright ribbon around that handle. It looks like the closet won a prize for being temporarily unusable.
The suitcase can wait. A mirrored door leaning toward someone's hands cannot.
