How do I tell my husband our wedding didn't feel like the best day of my life?

Weddings category photographWeddings

He keeps saying, "Wasn't it the best day?" I keep saying yes. We got married two weeks ago, and I loved marrying him. I didn't love being at the wedding.

I spent part of the reception sorting a table-plan mistake, missed my starter and was worrying about the time when we finally danced. He remembers the dance as the point where everything felt relaxed. I remember trying to stop counting what was left to do.

Friends are sending happy photographs, and I can see good moments in them. I don't want to announce that the whole wedding was a failure. I also don't want to keep endorsing a description that doesn't feel like mine.

How do I talk about it without asking him to give up the day he enjoyed? The bit I most want him to understand is that I felt responsible for it running, even while it was happening.

That last sentence gives you something specific to say. "I loved marrying you, and I felt responsible for keeping the event running" explains more than debating whether it was the best day.
