Does 'Warmest reptiles' need a second email?

The supplier replied, 'Best amphibians to you too.'

I had ended a perfectly ordinary email about tablecloth colours with 'Warmest reptiles'. I'd been writing a silly message to my nephew in another window and copied the wrong sign-off. The order details were all correct.

I laughed and showed a coworker. She said I should send a proper apology so the supplier knew I was being professional. Now I'm staring at a draft that begins, 'Please accept my apologies for the reptiles,' which feels less professional than the original mistake.

The supplier's response includes the colour samples I asked for. Nothing suggests they're upset. Should I briefly acknowledge the slip when replying about the samples, or send the solemn reptile apology separately?

Reply to the colour samples and add a short line if you want: 'Thanks, and apologies for the stray reptiles in my sign-off.' Their response gives you a fairly friendly opening. A whole separate email would make the supplier process another message without adding anything to the tablecloth decision.
