Can one friend switch to a hotel halfway through a camping weekend?
TravelAlma is standing outside the shower block with her washbag when she says, “I think I want a room tonight.”
Three friends are on a two-night camping weekend in Norfolk. Alma agreed to try camping and has discovered that the noise, shared facilities and constant unpacking are making her thoroughly unhappy. The others are enjoying it.
They share one car and borrowed some equipment from a friend who is not travelling. Alma has found a nearby room, but has not booked or established how she would get there and back. Her companions say a separate room would split up the weekend they all planned.
Should she finish the second night because she agreed to try it, or make separate sleeping arrangements if she can do so without leaving the others with extra costs or missing equipment? The trip was supposed to be a trial, but nobody said what would happen if the trial produced a clear no.
