A neighbor’s rotating rooftop ornament flashes reflected sunlight into our office. What is a fair remedy?

Neighbours category photographNeighbours

A polished metal wind spinner on the garage next door sends brief flashes into our home office on sunny afternoons. As it rotates, bright reflections cross the monitor and wall every few seconds.

The ornament is silent and attractive from the yard. The neighbor cannot see the effect from her house and thought I meant ordinary sunlight when I first mentioned it.

I recorded a short video and the approximate one-hour window. I am not claiming the spinner is dangerous or that reflective decorations are generally unreasonable. The specific orientation creates a repeated indoor impact.

I want her to rotate, lower, relocate or replace it, then test the change during the predictable sun angle. Closing our blinds works but assigns us the full cost of an easily adjustable object.

Would you demonstrate the reflection, request removal or offer several placement options? How should neighbors treat intense effects that occur only during a narrow seasonal window?

Show the timed reflection and ask her to adjust the object until it no longer enters your office.

Use video as evidence of location and timing, not as a claim about medical harm.
