Should a one-night guest pay an equal share of a three-night wedding-party cabin?

Weddings category photographWeddings

The organiser sent a payment request for $140 each. The cabin costs $840 for three nights, and there are six of us going for the bride's weekend.

I can stay only on Friday night because I work Sunday morning. I told the organiser that before she booked, but I didn't ask how the accommodation would be split. She says the cabin costs the same whether I use my bed for one night or three.

She's right about the fixed bill. I'm also looking at paying $140 for one night while everybody else gets three. She hasn't offered my place to another person for the other nights, and we never discussed doing that.

I can pay the amount, but I'd like to raise the split without making her personally cover a shortfall. Is this a conversation about what was agreed, what each person uses, or both?

Both facts matter: you disclosed the short stay before booking, and nobody settled the price split. Start there rather than accusing her of ignoring your message or treating an equal division as already agreed.

The cabin's fixed cost explains why your unused nights don't automatically save money. It doesn't prove equal shares are the only arrangement the six of you can choose.
