Can I put an end date on sharing my Wi-Fi when my neighbour's repair keeps being delayed?
Neighbours“The engineer has moved it to next week,” my neighbour said. “Can we stay on your Wi-Fi until then?”
I gave her a temporary guest-network password when her connection failed. The first estimate was three days. It has now been nine, and she has told me her daughter and a visiting friend are using it too. I hadn't realised the favour included everyone staying at her flat.
She works online, so losing access would be a real problem. I also work from home, and I don't want an indefinite arrangement I am afraid to change because she has another cancelled appointment.
My router has a guest-network menu, but I haven't checked all its permissions. The [manufacturer's Archer C7 guide](https://www.tp-link.com/us/user-guides/Archer-C7/chapter-6-guest-network) shows that local-network access is a separate guest setting. I need to check the instructions that match my own hardware and configuration rather than assuming the word “guest” answers everything.
Would giving her a definite end date and asking her to arrange her provider's alternatives be fair? I want to tell her before I change anything, but each new delay makes “just a few more days” sound difficult to refuse.
